Gomorrah

On Friday, Dec 17 2010, we watched Gomorrah at Spartacus. This is an Italian movie, directed by Matteo Garrone and based on the book by Roberto Saviano published in 2006. The first time I saw the movie was two years ago at the film festival in Karlovy Vary. I was a chaotic movie-goer: not patient enough to make my own research about the movies screened at the festival and not trusting enough to the program summeries, I relied on coincidence. The violance of Gomorrah caught me unprepared. Seeing Gomorrah for the second time, I could more concentrate on details: incredibly good casting, excellent performances of child actors (and Salvatore Cantalupo - a tailor Pasquale), smart narrative structure...
